This product can detect all kinds of car damage, ranging from a minor scratch to an entire panel that needs to be removed. If an accident were to occur, an insurance company can directly go on-site and take photos of the damaged car to start the claim process.
In the near future, the team plans on integrating the functionality with nearby workshops and third parties to map out which locations can accept the car. Once the car enters a garage, the workshop conducts the repairs and the insurer gets notified when it’s ready for pickup.
TrueClaim’s advantage over competitors relies on the fact that its AI model, now powered by Amazon SageMaker, is trained with millions of pictures taken in Canada, having the ability to recognize all the popular Canadian models under various weather conditions, which often lower the image quality, making it very difficult if not impossible for other AI tools to detect all the damaged parts.
